ARBORICIDIO CON VIOLENCIA POLICIAL EN HOYA DE LA PLATA (GRAN CANARIA)

LOS VERDES PIDE LA DIMISIÓN DE PAULINO MONTESDEOCA POR SU RESPONSABILIDAD EN LOS SUCESOS DE HOYA DE LA PLATA. 

Los Verdes ha solicitado al Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria la reposición de los tres ficus arrancados el pasado 8 de agosto en el barrio capitalino de  Hoya de La Plata y pide la dimisión de Paulino Montesdeoca, concejal de Movilidad y Seguridad Ciudadana por su responsabilidad la brutal intervención del GOIA (Grupo Operativo de Intervención y Apoyo)

Asimismo los Verdes ha mostrado su solidaridad con los vecinos que fueron victimas de una carga policial brutal, entre ellos ancianos y niños, que manifestaban su oposición a la tala de los mencionados árboles. El portavoz del Partido Verde Canario, Rafael Rodríguez ha manifestado que “Estos árboles fueron plantados hace 35 años por los vecinos y los han visto crecer como a sus hijos, constituyendo un lugar de encuentro y de refugio para esperar la guagua a la sombra. Nos consta que había un acuerdo con los vecinos para respetar los árboles a la hora de ubicar el local social” 

Los Verdes afirma que “son concientes de la necesidad de locales sociales en el barrio pero considera que no era necesario arrancar los pocos árboles existentes, máxime cuando hay otros lugares disponibles para edificar el citado local. El que van a edificar va a parecer una caja de zapatos de 150 irrisorios metros cuadrados, insuficiente para  un barrio con tanta población”. Otro aspecto que ha señalado Rodríguez es que “con la construcción del local se ha desplazado la parada de guagua creando serias dificultades de desplazamiento a las personas mayores que viven en esta zona del barrio” Los Verdes reclaman “más respeto por los escasos reductos verdes que quedan en la ciudad que ayudan a armonizar las relaciones vitales de los vecinos, alegran la vista, contribuyen a oxigenar la atmósfera, a amortigua la contaminación acústica, a regular la temperatura y son el cobijo de números pájaros”

Los Verdes llevan años solicitando al Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria que se adhiera formalmente a la “ Declaración del Derecho al Árbol en la Ciudad”, la llamada CARTA DE BARCELONA mediante la que decenas de municipios de toda España, entre los que se encuentra Santa Cruz de Tenerife, se han comprometido, mediante las ordenanzas, normas, disposiciones y acuerdos municipales a “Establecer políticas, reglamentaciones, normativas y prácticas en la Administración y Gobierno de la Ciudad que garanticen las condiciones óptimas para la vida del Árbol.
